Upcoming College and Career Studies

This fall brings many opportunities for our students to explore their college and career options. Make sure to ask your children about these important events and lessons:

Second Annual Career Day:

On Wednesday, November 29th, we will be welcoming 20+ guests to campus to share their career paths and experiences. This is a day rich with practical learning and exploration. If you are interested in speaking with our students about your career (or know someone else who should), please complete this quick form: https://goo.gl/forms/w5bS8BYpdOLYST9h2

Advisory Lessons:
Throughout the months of October and November, our students will be exploring college and career options in their advisory classes. These lessons guide students through envisioning their future professional and personal lives, analyzing the costs associated with those choices, exploring career options that match their strengths, interests, and personal and financial goals, and then researching education options to get them there. Students will be using online interest surveys and research tools to complete these steps.

College Field Trips:

All Junior Jets will be visiting college campuses this fall:

  • 6th Grade - UC Berkeley (and Hearst Anthropology Museum)
  • 7th Grade - UC Berkeley and Laney College
  • 8th Grade - San Francisco State (and Fort Point) on November 2nd.
