Diana Kenney

I grew up in Alameda attending Porter, Lum, Washington, Wood and Alameda High Schools. I've worked for the Alameda Unified School Distric for over 24 years, teaching grades K-12 as well as adult learners.

Teaching/Educational Philosophy

"Every child is gifted...They just unwrap their packages at different times."

As an educator I believe it's important to keep learning and continue to modify my approach to find the best ways to relate material to my students.  Our world is constantly being influenced by technology and I believe it is crucial to use that technology to improve educational strategies as well to collaborate with like minded colleagues to educate our students.

Personal Note

I can honestly say that I don't go to work, I go to school everyday and I love just about every moment of it. I've taught at every grade level and I feel I've finally found the perfect setting to spend the rest of my career. The enthusiasm of our high school students keeps me energized and happy. The genuine sweetness and natural curiosity of our Junior Jets brings a smile to my face every day.
