What We Do

Restorative Justice Center (RJC)

Restorative practices is a tool community members use to strengthen relationships between individuals as well as social connections within communities. Our RJC students will facilitate and mentor this practice and belief system on Encinal’s campus by:

--Assisting in the rollout of school-wide PBIS lessons

--Providing new student orientation

--Mentoring peers that include weekly or bi-weekly check-ins

--Facilitating community-building (proactive) circles as well as restorative circles throughout the school year

--Coordinating open forums for students to express needs or concerns.

--Triaging discipline referrals from staff members

Who We Are

The Encinal media center was transformed into the Student Center in the summer of 2018. This was done in response to both student and staff feedback that the space needed revitalization and support services needed to be streamlined. The Student Center is now a centralized hub for Encinal’s student resources. The Restorative Justice Center, peer tutoring, and various support groups are now run out of the space. The diverse support staff includes an intervention coordinator, a librarian, an academic case manager, counselor/therapists, and an after-school program manager.

Student/Parent Referral Form

Students and family members can request help for a student in 1 of 4 areas of need: academics, behavior support, social-emotional health, or attendance. Encinal staff members should use Aeries to make this request.
