What do I need to do to Apply for a Scholarship?

You need to do your research!  Looking for a scholarship is like going on a treasure hunt.  You are not going to find free $$ lying around. You have to look for it!

  • Each scholarship will list "Eligibility Requirements."  Read these and you will know right off the bat if you qualify.
  • Check dates for "Deadline for submission."  You cannot submit a scholarship application late - period!
  • Most scholarships will require at least one letter of recommendation.
  • Complete a Brag Sheet (you can find this in our CCC Locker).  Download it and type up your answers.  Then you can simply send an electronic copy to a teacher.  Be sure to save it so you can update and re-use.
  • Most teachers will ask you for your brag sheet, a transcript and at least two weeks notice in order to write a letter of recommendation.
  • Most scholarship applications are online but there are still some that have a paper application.  We keep copies of any paper applications in the scholarship binder in the C&C Center.

Scholarship List - updated 3/29/2022

  • An additional list of up-to-date scholarships can be found on Naviance. Log-in here -  Student Naviance, go to the "colleges" drop down, select "scholarships and money" then select "scholarship list." Use "filters" to find scholarships that are best fit for you.  For help using this, contact Lee Kaplan or Chris Nye.
